For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. - Proverbs 23:7
How would you describe this image?
Is it a green turtle playing a banjo?
Let's get more specific and say it is a green turtle playing a banjo and spinning around at the same time.
Maybe if you knew something about digital imagery you'd add "gif image" to the description.
Can you think of any other descriptions to add?
Think about it for 20 seconds and imagine yourself writing it here ________________________________.
Now answer this.
When you where "thinking" about what to add to the description of the image above, where exactly where you looking for the information you added on the imaginary line above?
When you make a decision or determination about anything on a conscience level, you turn to your own personal knowledge base that is spread out at varying degrees over your subconscious and super conscious levels.
Exact details of every experience you've had since birth through any of your 5 human senses are perfectly recorded and archived into an infinite database known as your memory.
At higher levels of memory, contained in varying degrees and at different levels of your subconscious and super conscious, is the root "operating system" that runs you.
Before you ever take a single action, make a determination about anything or speak a solitary word, you refer to the information in this memory for guidance.
You create and maintain "information files" on absolutely everything.
The information you retrieve tells you how to think, what to say and how to act
It's possible your mother may have been the original "green turtle programmer" when she read you a children's book that had pictures of a green turtle of which she said something like...
"See the turtle?"
or
"This is a turtle"
Your turtle file was officially opened. A few dozen bedtime stories later your turtle file became filled with enough "evidence" so belief about what a turtle is was formed. The information in your turtle file is your "truth" about what a turtle is.
In the beginning your reality of a turtle may have been just a picture in a story book.
Over the years every time you open the turtle file to draw guidance from it, you update it.
For example, the first time you observed a real live turtle it took some shuffling of your files. The files that supported your belief that "a turtle can only be in a book" where rewritten to say something like...
- Turtles are alive
- Turtles are heavy
- turtles move slowly
- etc.
Information you retrieve from your ALIVE, HEAVY and SLOWLY files help to reorganize your new turtle file.
Drawing from the new information in your turtle file supported with information from all of your other files, you reality of what a turtle is shifts.
Sometimes the information being added is in conflict with that which is already there. If there is a higher volume of and/or more compelling evidence supporting the new information, then a NEW belief is formed and your REALITY is shaped so slightly.
Turtles did not change, you did.
I'll give you $10 if you French kiss a possum.
As you read that last sentence you immediately scanned your files to make sense of what was being said before making a decision. Chances are high you've never French kissed a possum but after consulting your "files" on French kissing and possums, you might have the reaction of "yuk!" Maybe you would consult other files that would draw a conclusion like "I would for $1000.00!!"
You have files for everything you've experienced so far in life and if you happen across something of which you have no file on, you start putting information in a new file which is filtered by the information in all of your other files thus creating a new belief.
When you where a little kid the tooth fairy was very real. When a tooth fell out, you stuck it under your pillow and while you slept the tooth fairy came and took the tooth leaving a treat of some kind in it's place.
Based on your programming at the time, this was very real for you. The tooth fairy was part of your reality. Over the years you add more information to the tooth fairy file until there is enough evidence for you to change your beliefs and thus shift your reality.
Your world changed simply because the way you THOUGHT about something changed.
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think, we become"- Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
For years the medical establishment refused to believe tiny unseen creatures could be the reason for the high mortality rates in 19th century hospital operating rooms. Doctors often did not even wash their hands and the operating instruments being used on one patient weren't washed after their use on the prior one.
Lucky for us this paradigm changed when it was finally proven there are IN FACT tiny creatures called germs that need to be kept out of the operating room.
Before there was enough evidence to replace the current line of thinking, every doctor new FOR A FACT that there was no such thing as tiny unseen creatures that could kill a human.
Now we know IN FACT that there is.
Did the world change? No.
What changed was simply the way the medical establishment THOUGHT about the issue. Once the files where updated and the new belief was established, the REALITY changed.
If you have health problems, money issues, spousal issues and so on, it is possible you have faulty programming that needs to be changed.
The world is not solid. It is fluid and constantly changing. Your reality is "held together" by your thoughts.
To change your world, change the way you THINK about your world.
Why do you do what you do? Why do you react to certain situations like you do? Where does your most powerful programming come from?
And maybe even more importantly...
Whose been programming you?
Thought, the most powerful creation tool uses the second most powerful SPEAKING to install powerful programming into your memory.
This is why statements repeatedly made by loved ones and other authoritative figures have such an impact on Young children.
Much of your programming may of been done by your parents who where programmed by their parents who where programmed by theirs and so on.
Much of this programming is desirable...
"Be nice to others"
"Don't talk with your mouth full"
"Sit up straight"
and so on.
But what about...
"A woman's place is in the kitchen"
"Good looking people are stuck-up"
"Good looking people are vain and conceited"
"Rich people are greedy"
"Rich people are selfish"
"Becoming wealthy takes a lot of hard work"
"Big boys don't cry"
"You'll never amount to anything"
and so on.
Every since you've been on this collection of quantum fields we know as earth, you are constantly having information put into your files, some helpful and some not.
You collect information through all of your senses. The more senses that are involved in recording the information, the more powerful it becomes.
The SPOKEN word, derived from intentional THOUGHT directed at you with EMOTION attached is a very powerful tool for programming the way you THINK and ultimately your REALITY.
Parents, teachers, friends, school counselors, family members, the old lady down the hall, TV, radio and so on can all have a powerful impact on your beliefs.
Advertisers know this which is why they spend BILLIONS every year trying to get you to THINK a certain way about their product and buy it!!
You can spend a million dollars on every self-help course known to man and guess what?
They all attempt to do one thing,
Change your thoughts.
Do you think it's possible that some grown men have a hard time showing emotion because when they where young they where told that "big boys don't cry" or "men don't cry?"
How about "children should be seen and not heard." Do you think that some people may have a hard time speaking up because this old program still dictates their beliefs and actions?
Your whole life you've been collecting information for your files much of it good but some of it may be holding you back.
How do you figure out what is in your files about a certain subject?
To determine what's in your files, simply think about whatever, lets say "getting rich" and in this case "rich" means having a lot of money.
Make a quick list of what comes to mind, even if it seems unrelated. Think of the subject and immediately make a list of associated toughts.
My GETTING RICH files look like this.
- Getting rich would be fun
- Getting rich would feel secure
- Getting rich would free my family
- Getting rich would be awesome!!
- Getting rich takes a lot of long hard work
- Getting rich would mean I was greedy
NOTE - I use "Getting rich" in this example but obviously you would substitute it for whatever you want like getting more muscular, losing weight, looking good, etc.
You write down EVERYTHING that comes to mind but for this example we'll stop here and go over the files.
Did you do it? Go ahead and think about anything and then write down your feelings about it. If a thought comes up, write it down because if it came up, chances are high it is having at least a small effect.
Thought creates matter
Because the information attached to your files triggers emotions and then biochemical reactions within your body, we can say they are like mini executable programs that run when you apply thought to them.
Remember also that these actions and reactions at quantum levels are waves and particles of energy vibrating at different frequencies resonating through your whole body.
Nothing means anything until you apply your beliefs (files) to it. Doing this TELLS YOU how you are supposed to FEEL and react.
A "pit bull" will create fear and anxiety in one person while creating love and compassion in another. It all depends on how we describe "things" to ourselves using the information in our files.
Let's check out my getting rich files...
1. Getting rich would be fun.
If your "fun" files, like mine, contain files like "exhilaration," "joyous," "good time," and so on, then this file would produce a positive emotion within you.
Remember...
Nothing ever means anything at all except that of which you tell yourself what it means.
The information in your files will tell you exactly what it means at which time you will feel a certain way about it because your thoughts will have triggered emotion. Once you have emotion attached, "it" means something to you.
So this file creates good emotions in me and is not holding me back or BLOCKING me from getting rich.
Let's check out the other information that I use to define what getting rich means to me.
2. Getting rich would feel secure / safe / freedom / low anxiety / relaxing / etc.
No block there.
3. Getting rich would free my family / security / retire mom / pamper grandma / kids in college / etc.
No block there.
4. Getting rich would be awesome! / great / fantastic / incredible / etc.
No blocks here either. In fact this is a feel good file. These are the type of files we need to refer more often to.
5. Getting rich takes a lot of long hard work / pain / tired / will power / time / aging / etc.
See how #5 is bringing up negative files? This creates a block.
6. Getting rich would mean I was greedy / stingy / Ebenezer Scrooge / mean / etc.
Looks like I have two files in my "getting rich" file that create blocking emotions.
Do you think I may be getting mixed feelings on the subject of me "getting rich" and in turn may be getting MIXED RESULTS as well?
My thoughts about getting rich may just be blocking me from being rich.
Let's get rich.
How do you remove the blocks?
You could question the legitimacy of the information in your programming and replace it. After all, where did it come from?
Your dad? Your grandfather? How about your friends dad? Your teacher at school?
I mean if you are not rich yet the only way you'd now how hard it was to become rich was by reading or hearing words spoken by other people.
So let's say it was a combination of other people's thoughts about how hard getting rich was that was put in your files and is now what you draw your belief about what it's like to get rich from.
How many of these people are really rich like what your definition of rich is? Probably none of them because if you'd actually shared "getting rich" files with a rich person, they'd tell you that they LOVE what they do so it never seems like work!
So let's replace Getting rich takes a lot of long hard work to:
5. Getting rich lets me be passionate about what I love to do / happiness / fun / eagerness / etc.
What a difference that makes and look at the sub-files it creates!! Now whatever it is "you love to do" still requires energy, but it won't be "hard work and it's what you'll be doing while your getting rich!!
Remember that it is your interpretation of something determined through you programming that tells you what that "something" means and how you should feel about it.
When I was growing up, every year my family would watch A Christmas Carol. For the longest time I always associated rich people to the Scrooge character before he changed to good.
Greedy / Grouchy / Mean Spirited / old / etc.
I'm surprised this came up when I was writing down my emotions tied to "getting rich" because I thought that I had long since replaced that with something like...
6. Getting rich will give me the ability to contribute more too and help the less fortunate.
Now the information in my "getting rich" file of which I will use to conclude exactly what getting rich means to me looks like this...
- Getting rich would be fun
- Getting rich would feel secure
- Getting rich would free my family
- Getting rich would be awesome!!
- Getting rich lets me be passionate about what I love to do
- Getting rich will give me the ability to contribute more to and help the less fortunate.
I changed the way I feel about getting rich simply by changing the way I describe it to myself.
Now my feelings about getting rich are more positive. I've raised my vibrations on this subject which in turn will attract similar energy and put me more in tune with the reality of getting and being rich.
A faster way to drop blocking emotions is through Emotional Freedom Technology.
Conclusion
You need to look into your own programming to see what you really think about whatever it is you want to change or have.
You might be surprised to find out what you are "really" telling yourself.
For example, "I want to loose weight."
Do you REALLY want to loose weight? Maybe NOT at your subconscious levels where it MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!
Lets look at some information that might be in your "I want to loose weight file."
- If I lost weight I'd be sexier ( good )
- If I lost weight my cloths would look better ( good )
- I've tried to lose weight before I always fail ( so why try, right? )
- I always sabotage myself so there's no use trying ( hey this confirms the last one! )
- I'll always be fat no matter how hard I try to loose weight ( there's no hope )
- But I love to eat ( even more than being thin? )
- Obesity runs in my family, there's really nothing I can do about it ( I'll always be fat )
Are there blocking thoughts/emotions here?
Can you see how difficult it may be to loose weight if when you think about loosing weight your feelings toward loosing weight are based on the files above?
You can't be thin when your "thinking" fat.
You may consciously think you want to loose weight but your programming on the subject is keeping you fat!
You have to discover how you really "feel" about something and then change the way you describe it to yourself to support the way you want to feel about it.
Whenever you come across something that does not agree with your programming, stop for a minute and evaluate the files that are telling you what to think about that subject.
Like Dr. Wayne Dyer says,
"To change your world, change the way you think about your world."
The most important thing to take from this lesson is for you to understand why it is you believe the way you do and how your thoughts literally create your reality.
Thanks for listening,
Michael
